The Brammers and Their Kin
Based on a manuscript by Pearle A. Brammer with additional material provided by the editor, Charles David Brammer. Soft Bound. Cost $20.00 postpaid.
Their are thousands of persons in the United States today who are descendants of the Brammers of early Virginia. In the late 1700's, the records show that nearly all the Brammers were living in Franklin and Patrick Counties of Virginia. By 1850, descendants of these Brammers had migrated to Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Iowa, and what now is West Virginia, and other states. "The Brammers and Their Kin" manuscript was written by Pearle A. Brammer in the late 1950's. It has been edited and republished in March 1987 with additional data and research material. This 90 page soft bound book provides information on the origin of the Brammer surname in Germany, gives possible ancestors who migrated from Germany and England and references many land grants, wills, deed, tax records, etc. of the Brammer of early Virginia. The first two issues of the Brammer Branches newsletter are included free with the purchase of this book. These two newsletter issues contain corrections and additions to the information in the book.
Brammer Soldiers, 1775 - 1902
Compiled by Charles David Brammer; soft bound; cost $8.00 postpaid.
What began as a search for information on a Civil War soldier ancestor developed into a compilation of all soldiers with the Brammer surname who served in wars between 1775 - 1902 and who are listed in records at the National Archives and the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. By reviewing military records and pension files and by consulting census records and other genealogical sources, the compiler was able to determine the father and grandfather of many of the soldiers. This booklet also provides information on how to obtain copies of the records of the soldiers.
