A PAIR OF GARAGE QUEENS

Or Boyz and their Toyz!

This is a story of money wellspent (or misspent depending on your viewpoint). Right after my wife and I were married in 1972, we did what all young married couples should do. Go into hock up to your ears for a fun driving machine. In our case, that was a Porsche 914 (which was as high as our ears went then) right off the showroom floor. Have we ever had fun with that car. Twenty-seven years later and we are still together and that car is still in our possession.

However (it seems like there is always a however), I have always wanted a Porsche 911. And guess what? Twenty-seven years later I also have a 1972 Porsche 911T Targa. What a car. I have to take a break and go look at in the garage.

Back again. Car is still there but I had to wipe off a few fingerprints. Click on the thumbnails above if you want to view the queens in all their shining glory.

I don't profess to be a master mechanic, a body and fender specialist or a expert driver. However, I really enjoy the car and have gathered information on some sites for someone (like me) who would like more knowledge for just the heck of it or to do some of those maintenance projects.

The RennList Probably the best site around for Porsches'. If you are interested in Porsches', join the list. There are people on this who work on these cars as a hobby but are probably master class as mechanics.

Pelican Parts If you need parts or technical information, check out this site. They have on-line catalogs complete with pictures and part numbers. They also have significant technical information on 914's, 911's, 356's and 924/944/965's. Pictures? You bet!!!
