Autobiography of Master Ching Hai


The Supreme Master Ching Hai was born to a well-off family in Aulac, the daughter of a highly reputed naturopath. She was brought up as a catholic, and leaned the basic of Buddhism from Her grandmother. As a young child, She showed a precocious interest in philosophical and religious teachings, as well as an uncommonly compassionate attitude towards all living beings. At the age of eighteen, The Supreme Master Ching Hai moved to England to study, and then later to France and Germany, where She worked for the Red Cross and married a German scientist. After two years of happy marriage, with the consent of Her husband, She left Her marriage in pursuit of enlightenment, thus fulfilling an ideal which had been with Her since Her childhood. At this time, She was studying various meditation practices and spiritual disciplines under the guidance of the teachers and masters who were withinHer reach. She came to realize the futility of one person trying to help suffering humanity, and recognized that the best way to help people was toattain total realization Herself. With this as Her singular goal, She traveled around many different countries, searching for the perfect method of enlightenment. Through many years of tests, trials and tribulations, The Supreme Master Ching Hai finally found the Quan Yin Method and the Divine Transmission in the Himalayas. After a period of diligent practice, during Her retreat in the Himalayas, She attained complete enlightenment. In the years after Her enlightenment, The Supreme Master Ching Hai lived the quiet, unassuming life of aBuddhist nun. Shy in nature, She kept the Treasure hidden until people sought Her instruction and initiation. It was through the insistent requests and efforts of Her earlier disciples in Formosa ( Taiwan ) and United States, that The Supreme Master Ching Hai has come to lecture throughout the world, and has initiated many tens of thousands of sincere spiritual aspirants. Thought the main work of The Supreme Master Ching Hai is to teach the spiritual method, meanwhile She gave essential assist and help to the poor and victims who aresuffering or in need. Although She has not soughtacknowledgment of any kind, The Supreme Master Ching Hai has been recognized and honored for Her humanitarian work by government officials throughout the world for appreciation of Her helping millions of people in the world when they encountered disassociates, poverty, and disease . For example, October25, 1993 was proclaimed "The The Supreme Master Ching Hai Day" by the mayor of Honolulu Hawaii, and February22, 1994 was likewise proclaimed by the governors of the States of Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas, Missouri and Minnesota.She also received the "World Peace Award" in Honolulu, and the "World Spiritual Leadership Award" in 1994. In recent years The Supreme Master Ching Hai has also devoted Herself to creative expression of the beauty She enjoys within . Her creative works includepaintings, decorated fans, lamps, interior decoration, garden designs, dress designs, poems, musical compositions and songs. Many of these items aremade available for purposes of fundraising for charity work. And all Her creative works were exhibited internationally and achieved great praise. The Supreme Master Ching Hai told us that She was not born enlightened. She lived a normal worldly life, and knows from experience about our problems, ourheartaches, passions, desires and doubts. She also knows the Heavenly Realms of Buddhahood, and how to get there form here. Her sole function atthis point in Her life is to help us with our journey from the suffering and confusion of the unawakened state to the Bliss and absolute clarity of total divine realization. Today more and more Truth seekers form different countries and various religions have been streaming to Her for Her supreme wisdom. The Supreme Master Ching Haihas verified by Her own experience that Quan Yin Method is a supreme method of immediate enlightenment.
