Agnetha Then and Now | home
After ABBA 3
October 2, 1983 on the way home from the promotional tour
in London, Agnetha's tour bus
was in an accident. She was
afraid of flying and used the bus instead. Agnetha was resting in the sleeping compartment in the back of the bus. It had been
raining and the roads were wet. The bus driver was driving a little too fast and as he went through
a town in Skåne on the way to Jönköping, he came suddenly to
a red light. Slamming on the brakes the bus went through an
oil slick leaked from a lorry, the back brakes locked up and the bus swayed violently before flipping over onto it's side and spinning. Agnetha had grabbed onto the matress she was laying on and the next thing
she knew she was waking up in a ditch, after being thrown through a window out of the bus!
She had hit her head hard and also had alot of scratches and glass stuck in her arms and hair.
Fortunatly, nobody on the bus was seriously hurt.
Agnetha and Hans Blomgren, her assistant.
Agnetha and the others were taken to a hospital and recieved treatment.
Agnetha had xrays and spent the night in intensive care. The next day she
and the others were released. She had a aching head and neck strain and
had to wear a neck brace. Ironic after the fall a few days earlier at the Late
Late Show....Not a good trip out that time around.
She did not perform again for 2 weeks. And she was still hurting then!
The show was called "Måndagsbörsen" for Swedish television on October 17, 1983.
Agnetha and Hans Blomgren who was her personal bodyguard/assistant/friend in 1983. Agnetha rarely went out without him. It is him that you see her with
in the Raskenstam premiere photos. He also was
with her and the children when they attended the Chess Concert in Stockholm the following year.

Agnetha with Torbjörn Brander. She met him at a police station in September 1981.
He was the police inspector handeling her case about a crazed fan that had been
following her around. Agnetha says"It was love at first sight." and soon he moved into
her Lidingö home on Jupitervägen.
In December Björn and Lena moved out of the house Björn had shared with Agnetha
and into a new home also on Lidingö. ( Jan.3,1981 Emma was born to them.)
This dog has been named Hampus. The dog was given to her by Torbjörn as
a watchdog. It is a Lejonberger.
1984
1984 Agnetha and co host participated in the 700 anniversary of her home town. Jönköpingsyra was the programs name. She sang a song at the begining of the
show called "Följ med i min balloon" while local
landmarks were shown.
A childrens choir surprised her by singing some of her old hits such
as, "Jag var så kär,""Många gånger än," and "Utan dig.
" It brought Agnetha to tears she was so touched.
Photo's taken at the Jupitervägen house on Lidingö.
1985
Eyes Of A Woman Album
Produced by Eric Stewart.
At this time Agnetha was already starting to withdraw from public life.
She didn't do the heavy promotion for this album. She was wanting to spend
more time at home. She was getting tired of all the made up stories in the press
who speculated about her personal life constantly.
