Agnetha Then and Now | home
After ABBA pg 7
1996
Agnetha says in her book:
"When myths develop about you - such as attempts by the press to
portray me as another Garbo - It can be dangerous. People get the
impression that you have closed all the doors and lost interest in
everything. Well, I haven't closed any doors - not to myself, new ideas,
new oportunities or my own music."
The photo shoots for this book were done in 1996. From "ABBA On Speaking Terms"
Agnetha with Brita Åhmen 1996
Agnetha and her then friend of 14 years, Brita Åhmen, wrote an autobiography.
Says Brita,"Agnetha is very down to earth, simple and strong.
A mature woman."
In the 1980s both Agnetha and Brita lived in Lidingö outside Stockholm. They took long walks together. "There was no glamour in it we had old worn-out clothes and shoes. When we came home we used to drink tea and eat sanwiches with smoked salmon which is both
my and Agnetha's favorite."
And also that the victim image the press have portrayed of her is as wrong as it
could be.
The friendship ended in the late 1990's.
Brita took copius notes when interviewing Agnetha. She recently(2004) has come forward trying
to sell her notes that didn't make it into the book. These are Agnetha's private matters.
Agnetha's lawyers are handeling the matter.
These pics were taken in front of the rustic little house down by the water at
Agnetha's farm.
Agnetha was sitting down by the water of the Bockholmssundet on her farm
(near the rustic little house) speaking to Brita Åhmen in this picture.
(She is wearing the same boots in all 3 different photo shoots.)
