SAVING TUTORIALS
For Offline Work
This tutorial was
written by Jemima ~28 January 2003.
**********************

First I'm going to show you how to save
these Tutorials
on your computer so that you
can print them out later
when you are offline.
Mind you.... not ALL
tutorials can be saved this way.
A few tutorial authors have a
security code
on their page so that it can't be
downloaded.
The reason for this is that
they spend many hours creating
these tuts and do not want all THEIR hard
work appearing
on someone else's website.
With those, it's best to print it
out.
BUT the majority of
tutorials can be saved.
*************************************
1: Create a new
folder on your computer and name it
TUTORIALS
2: Go to the
Browser window that shows the tutorial
you want to save.
Once you have the tutorial fully loaded
(all graphics visible)
in your browser window... go to FILE
>>>> SAVE AS

3:
This will
appear. Click on the box and locate
your folder called TUTORIALS.

4:
This will appear.... Of course yours will
be empty since it's a new folder.
Click on the Folder Icon and create a new
SUB folder.

5:
RENAME this folder with the name of
the tutorial you are about to save.

6:
OPEN this folder by clicking on the Icon

7:
If the name that appears in the FILE NAME
is long...
Shorten it.
Trust me.... it's advisable to do this.
(On one tut I saved
I didn't pay attention to the length of
the name
and it was EXTREMELY long.
Because it's too long, WINDOWS won't
recognise it,
therefore I can't delete it and I'm stuck
with it
on my computer even
though I have no further use for it.)

8: A little box will
appear advising that it is downloading
the page
and a folder containing
the graphics to go with the page.
When this box disappears then you can
close the page on your browser window.
9: To locate your
Tutorial so that you can work on it...
Go to.... MY COMPUTER
>>>>> select the Drive
that has your TUTORIALS
folder>>>>
Locate the folder
>>>>>> open the
tutorial you wish to work on

Hope these
instructions make sense to you all
