~ To My Life Page ~
I guess this is where I tell you about me
First, my name is Diane. I am a daughter
a mother, a grandmother, and just about
everything else you can think of but most
of all, I am myself first, then all else.
I am fifty one years old, born the second
of four. I was born the day before
Halloween and with strawberry blonde
hair so I was called the "little witch" and
"red" all my life. Because it "clashed" with
my hair, I was never put in pink, which
made everyone believe I wasn't a girl.
Guess what my favorite color is, not just
pink but neon pink, I love it.
I have been married to many times and
most of them ended because of financial
problems, alcohol or drug abuse. My
"escape" was in alcohol and the drug
abuse was, my husbands downfalls but
all, were wrong.
There is also some abuse, physical and
sexual, some when I was young and then
spread throughout my life. I became
pregnant when I was sixteen and have
had most of my children out of wedlock.
My second son, who only lived one hour
was killed when I was beaten up twice in
the same day. I was six months pregnant
at the time. I lost my children for seven
years do to situations that I will not
explain. I have tried suicide a few times
and tried hiding in alcohol, I hate drugs
although I have tried my share. A year
and a half ago, it was decided that I am
bipolar with psycotic tendencies. I tell
you this, not for sympathy but to let you
know that I have "been there, done that",
in most situations and now I am trying to
use that experience to maintain my life and
to help others understand that they are not
alone. We are all in the position to help
others. Through support, physical,
financial or just sharing our experiences,
Just "being there" or "alerting people to".
I sound like a crusader but I truly believe
that knowing about the problems, learning
to understand and taking the time to share
is the pathway that humanity is going to
have to take if it is to survive.
