POETRY II

ORIGINAL POEMS WRITTEN BY: DIANE PORTER
ARIZONA WOMAN
Born and raised in Arizona, kissed by the Arizona sun
Taught to love and appreciate, all that God has done
The tall and beautiful pine trees, sagebrush and desert sands
The canyons, some a mile deep, rarely touched by human hands
Through these gifts from God she wanders, wind blowing softly through her hair
She's at home in this beautiful country and all the grandeur there
My woman is tough as leather yet her heart is made of gold
Her love is a wonderous treasure many men have tried to hold
But like an eagle in the sky or the whispering of the wind
Like the fleeting glimpse of a shooting star, you cannot cage her in
She stands beside me as I do her, together we walk through life
She's always there when I need her
My Arizona Woman, my wife

KNOWING YOU, KNOWING ME
I read your poems and in them I see
A tortured and mirror image of me
No my friend you are not alone
So don't accept the sins of someone else as your own
I know the darkness that comes with the night
Sometimes doesn't bring the mornings light
But we're all together in this walk through life
Although lonliness at times can cut like a knife
The inner selves we all carry too
They provide our minds with something to do
Such as feeling as though we're alone every day
And that love only exists in some world far away
But it's not so my friend as I have found
And soon you will see there is love all around
So open yourself up, come out of your shell
Together we'll send the Demons of pain back to hell
