Buddha's Life Time Performance during Wesak 2000 at PBHP |

This play was made possible with help from the committee members to loan costumes and Indian attire. Thousand of thank you to Bro. Baskaran who assisted in the soundtrack production. Admittedly, the play was not as professional as in the plays like Siddhartha, The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables, but enough to transmit the message across.
The "baby Siddhartha" was played by a student from the Sunday school. Art work and designing the props were indeed a hard work. Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu! to the baby Siddhartha.
The "Buddha" was played by PBHP youth who is also a member of the Yuen Zi Chia. The "Bodhi tree" was simply a potplant and placed in front of the altar and assisted by the neon light to denote Enlightenment. At this moment, there was a huge applause from the crowd.
"Strive on with diligence" was "His" last words.
The play also included certain characters like Devadata who tried to kill the Buddha and Nalagiri charging at the Buddha. Other characters or scenes like the Angulimala, the Temptation of Mara's daughter. The play was a narration in English and Mandarin, supported with slides shot from projector, lasting about 2 hours. SADHU! SADHU! SADHU! |
