Oregon offers scenic diversity with it's forests, rivers, beaches, mountains and waterfalls. If you're planning to visit Oregon you might want to see some waterfalls at Silver Falls State Park, take a scenic drive to Mt. Hood, visit Sokol Blosser Winery, or one of the many other vineyards, spend a day at the beach in Lincoln City, see the lighthouses which adorn the coast, watch the surfers, visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium, admire the view from Ecola State Park in Cannon Beach or stay overnight at the Hallmark Resort in Cannon Beach or in Lincoln City at Inn at Spanish Head or D-Sands Motel or try one of these motels. Drive a little further south past Lincoln City to the town of Yachats and spend a night at the Overleaf Lodge. Click here for a live view of the Oregon coast. Central Oregon offers scenic mountains in the high desert, Smith Rock, as well as the Metolius River. A favorite place of mine to stay is Sunriver Resort. You can rent rooms at the Lodge or rent a private home through the many rental agencies. Ski Mt. Bachelor located just 18 miles from Sunriver. Just a 90 minute drive from Sunriver is Crater Lake. You have to experience this view for yourself. The gorgeous blue color and the awesome size of this lake are breathtaking. For the camping enthusiast Oregon offers numerous campgrounds or try a yurt. For a unique experience rent a fire lookout or stay in a treehouse resort. Take a ride on the scenic Rogue River, visit Oregon's covered bridges or if you enjoy golf, try one of the many superb golf courses. Children will enjoy taking a trip through Enchanted Forest located just 7 miles from Salem, our State Capitol. If you desire romance, escape to a romantic getaway. As a native Oregonian, I hope that you will feel free to E-mail me with any questions you might have.

You won't want to miss seeing all the beauty that the Columbia River Gorge has to offer while visiting Oregon. There are simply no words to describe the awesome beauty that awaits you. You can drive along the historical, old scenic highway capturing the view from the Vista House at Crown Point, see several waterfalls right from your car or you can park and hike for awhile to better view more waterfalls in this little bit of paradise. While Multnomah Falls is certainly our most famous waterfall tourist attraction in Oregon...you will want to experience all of the waterfalls along the scenic drive as each one has something beautiful to offer. Continuing east on I-84 (the main gorge highway) hike to Punchbowl Falls on the Eagle Creek Trail. Drive further east and you will find Hood River which is well known for windsurfing.

The City of Roses

Portland is also known as the "City of Roses" and you can enjoy strolling through the fragrant Rose Gardens while enjoying the gorgeous view of the city of Portland. The Rose Gardens and the Pittock Mansion overlook downtown Portland and on a clear, sunny day you can see Mt. Hood in the distance. Also, it is worth a trip to drive up the mountain to see Timberline Lodge which sits right at the base of Mt. Hood, a major ski resort. The drive is very scenic. Experience a romantic night view of Portland from Council Crest. Spend a day at the zoo or just peek at the zoo cams. For a cultural view, visit the Portland Art Museum or have tea at the authentic Chinese Garden. Find a good book at Powell's Books or for something unusual shop at Portland Saturday Market.
