This article is a slightly modified version of my letter to the editor that World Net Daily was kind enough to publish on Tuesday, May 23, 2000. (Everyplace it says "Christian Patriot" here, it mentioned World Net Daily in the original. The comments after the signature block were added later.)
Choosing Your God
I am incensed that many church people dismiss the Christian Patriot movement. They say things like, "I don't have to worry about it if the USA becomes a police state. Christians have always been willing to be martyred for their faith."
My reply to them is this: If you are not willing to speak up and take a stand for truth and justice now, while it is still easy, what makes you think you will when it will cost you your life?
Ezekiel chapter 9 says exactly what God thinks of the irresponsible attitude of today's Christians. God's penalty for silence in the face of moral outrage is death!
Church people who think that they will have the courage to be martyrs are deluding themselves! The truth is, they don't truly believe that they will actually be faced with it! They believe that everything will continue as comfortably as it has been, in spite of increasing violence against Christians worldwide, and the continuing buildup of the legal framework for government sponsored violence against Christians here in the USA!
Church people who dismiss Christian Patriot publications are simply making excuses for their disobedience of God! They are disobeying his commands to tell and believe the truth (Revelation 22:15), to warn people of their sins (Ezekiel chapters 3, 9, and 33), to be the light of the world (John 3:19-21, Ephesians 5:11, Matthew 5:14-16) and the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13). They have lost their saltiness (and are trying to be sugar, instead!) and will be thrown away and trampled by men (Matthew 5:13).
They are ignoring ALL of the big three commands in Matthew 23:23 to uphold justice, mercy, and faithfulness. With their minds flapping in the breeze, they condone injustice. They turn a blind eye to the people who most need mercy (also violating Hebrews 13:3, as well as Matthew 22:34-40, 25:31-46, and James 2:14-26). They are being unfaithful to God by condoning (and sometimes approving!) the enactment of "laws" that violate God's laws!
Bottom line: who really is your god? The Lord, or government?

In the letter, I forgot to mention the lack of stewardship (Matthew 25:14-30) that church people practice by failing to preserve and make good use of the Christian republic our Founding Fathers laid down their lives to give us.
The leaders in your church need to read this article. Giving it to them might not make you very popular, but it will help get their blood off your hands. (Ezekiel chapters 3 and 33.)
Sadly, many church officials are not real leaders, but only politicians. Many church officials are actually seeking their own status, and not serving God. Being honest with oneself can be very difficult. Many church people truly believe they are serving God, but are in fact serving their own prestige and image.
Self-centeredness is rampant in churches today. Look at how much today's churches focus on making you feel good. True self-esteem can come ONLY by learning to do right, and doing it!
Be sure to read the article How To Get What You Really Need. (http://come.to/J.E.F.F./) It's basically a compilation of the passages that the Bible itself says are most important. Any church that rejects anything in that article can not possibly be of God. It is a counterfeit.
