Happy Independence Day! Let's make sure we remember WHY we celebrate it.
Everyone knows that today we celebrate the separation of the 13 colonies from Britain. Still, it's easy to forget WHY we separated.
The separation was much more than just trading one government for another. It was to establish a PRINCIPLE of government: government by consent of the governed.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights ... that to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it," ... "it is their duty to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."
That is the founding principle of the United States of America. PRINCIPLES ARE IMPORTANT! The founding fathers did not wait for violations of principle to gradually entangle them with an oppressive government (as we have done over the last 100 years). They saw all the consequences in the principle, and they rejected the bad principle.
Human nature includes the three basic sins of lust, greed, and pride (1 John 2:16). All evil can be traced to one or more of these. Churches tend to focus only on the least dangerous one, lust. (Lust does have the power to destroy families and ruin lives, but even this pales before the VAST atrocities that have been inflicted by greed and pride!)
Over the past 100 years, roughly 150 million people have been slaughtered by the ulitmate embodiment of greed and pride, totalitarian government. Greedy politicians want to own EVERYTHING, including the people themselves! Their pride makes them think they're ENTITLED to own us! Their pride make them think that it's actually a good thing to slaughter millions of people! "What's so bad about killing 30 million people? I have to show them who's boss!"
Governments have killed far more people in purges than in wars! A clear majority of the 150 million or so were killed by THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT! Not by the opposing government, in a war! Many governments actually wage war against their own people! But not in America! Right?
War against the people can be subtle. Instead of committing outright slaughter, our government nibbles away at the fruit of our lives. Instead of taking away our whole life in an instant, it nibbles it away a few hours at a time.
Just as the Declaration of Independence says: "He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance."
You need to realize: property rights are human rights! Your property consists of what you make with your own hands, and what you choose to possess by voluntarily trading your products for other's products you would like to have. Your possessions are an expression of yourself! They are what you create! They are what you wish to have, and obtain by creating what others wish to have!
In the Old Testament, God claimed only ten percent of what the people produced. If only today our government would be so humble! Our government today takes roughly HALF of what everyone produces! Your income tax may be "only" 10 or 20 percent, but add sales tax, property tax (which is part of your rent, if you rent your home), and other taxes that are embedded in the cost of everything you buy.
Many taxes are hidden in the cost of products. A business has to buy the materials from which to make products, pay the workers to make them, pay for the machinery they use in making them, and pay the taxes the government imposes on the business. Taxes are a cost of doing business. Taxes increase the cost of everything you buy!
Government that takes away large parts of your income in taxes is taking away large parts of your life! They are taking away the things you could have had! They are taking away the time you spent earning the money you spent in taxes! Government today is taking away nearly half of everyone's life!
In addition to the national, state, and local governments that now exist, there is now a great move on to create a GLOBAL government! If you think your state and national leaders are hard to access, wait 'til you have to try dealing with global leaders!
America's founding fathers were keenly aware that power tends to be abused. To keep things from getting out of hand, they created a system of checks and balances. Legislative, executive, and judicial powers were separated, as well as national, state, and local powers. The states were sovereign, delegating to the national government only a few of their powers.
All political power is inherent in the people. You have the right to say what goes on in your life. When the people don't know what their rights are, when the people let themselves slide to where they don't know right from wrong, crooked leaders can deceive the people into trading away their Rights in return for benefits and priveleges!
"We, the people" would now be far better off if we had kept the right to the fruit of our own labors, instead of letting government take it away from us and give back (in benefits) a part of what we produce, after skimming off a healthy chunk of it for themselves!
Local governments generally tax the least; then state governments, and then the federal government taxes the most. The further removed a government is from the influence of the people, the more it tends to tax. (It's just like President Reagan said, "Government is like an infant ... it has an appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.")
Global government, of course, will be the ultimate concentration of power. There will be NO checks and balances. There is not even any discussion of checks and balances in the UN system!
Currently, the UN depends on contributions from member nations for support. Senator Jesse Helms reminded the UN in January 2000 that the one billion dollars "arrears" from the US is small compared to the nearly TEN billion dollars worth of military manpower the US gave the UN in 1999!
Once the UN gets the power to DIRECTLY tax people or businesses, it will REALLY take off! (Notice: the US Constitution forbids the US government from directly taxing the people (Article 1, Section 9, Paragraph 4)! Originally, the US government had to survive on money given to it by the states, and on tariffs! The 16th Amendment (which has never been lawfully ratified!) changed that.) There will be NO stopping the UN then! There will be NO balance to restrain its power!
A direct tax for the UN is one item of the "Charter for Global Democracy" which is to be endorsed by the head of state of every government in the world at the Millenium Summit on September 6, 2000.
Globalism is far more advanced than most people realize! The charter for a World Court was created in 1998. The delegates booed America off the stage when our representative proposed the protections that we have in our Constitution! NAFTA, GATT, and the WTO already veto US laws!
Global corporations virtually control the world economy! Global corporations have no loyalty to any nation or people, but only to their profit and power; their greed and their pride! They are now moving their operations to police states like China! Slave labor is cheap!
This deprives the USA of the factories we need to make our own goods! Plus, it builds up China's military/industrial complex! China STILL commits genocide on their own people! They certainly don't have any care for us! The current government of China will never become civilized! We are only selling them the rope they will use to hang us!
"Don't buy products from China!" But, to a large extent, that choice has already been taken from us! Many products in the stores are already available only from China! Corporations have already moved their factories to China, and closed the ones in the USA!
Don't get any illusions about the UN being any kind of a balance to the power of the corporations! The UN was created by the corporations! Rockefeller himself donated the land for the headquarters!
Today, America faces the greatest threat to our independence ever! The global system is a FAR greater threat to America than England ever was!
Don't get any illusions about the global system being an expansion of the American system. The UN Declaration of Human Rights says NOTHING about anyone having any right to self defense! Instead, it talks about government's "right" to redistribute your wealth!
Globalism is systematically redistributing the world's wealth not to the people of the poor countries, but to the ruthless governments that have crushed the people, keeping them poor! The world's poor may see some improvement in their standard of living, but all power will be kept firmly in the hands of the ruthless leaders! The world's standard of living will increase nowhere near as much as it would if genuine American principles would be implemented worldwide!
Principles are important! Principles have consequences! Sadly, America seems to have forgotten its principles. People get the government they deserve. If people would take the trouble to seriously study the principles of right and wrong (instead of wasting so much time being entertained) they would be able to discern who really is for and who really is against them! People would be able to see through the lies that are constantly fed to them by politicians and the media.
Don't expect the media to bring you the truth! It is in their interest to keep you deceived! Your ignorance is what keeps them in power!
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. ... Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children." Hosea 4:6
Actively seek truth! Once you have found it, actively promote it to others! You must take action! Your freedom will never be handed to you! You must win it!
