Hiya. Kid Blink and Annie wants me to tell ya about the rally we had. It was July 24,
at New Irving Hall. Man, was der a crowd der! Five thousand o' us newsies! There was
even some o' them politicians there, but that don't mean much to us. They probably
won't do much to help us anyways.
Bob the Indian said that we needs to stop soakin' the scabs. That's gonna be hard to
remember. What're we supposed to do to the bums?
Me pal Kid Blink made a good point: "I'm trying to figure out how ten cents on a
hundred papers can mean more to a millionaire that it does to newsboys, an' I can't
see it." I cain't see it either.
David Simons, the president of our union, had us vote on some stuff. It got kinda
boring then, but it had to be done if we're gonna be a union. One of the things we're
gonna do is not hurt the bulls. I don't have a problem with that. We don't hurt them,
they won't hurt us.
