The strike ended August 2, 1899, two weeks after it began. The papers offered a comprimise with the newsies. Instead of lowering the papers price back to 50¢ per hundred, they would give a one hundred percent refund for all unsold papers. They accepted the offer, and returned to hawkin' de papes.
