Background
----------------

Throughout 1915 and into the spring of 1916 the German navy attempted to draw out the British Grand Fleet and destroy it in a series of tactical engagements.  The concept was to raid the East Coast of Britain and force the British to send out a portion of the fleet to chase down the raiders.  The small part of the fleet would then be ambushed by the entire High Seas Fleet and eliminated.

The biggest failure of the plan was that the British were fully aware of the German intentions.  For over a year British intelligence had been decoding the fleet message traffic and was about as well informed as the German fleet officers.  When the Germans sallied out on May 30th the British Grand Fleet was there to meet the High Seas Fleet.

The Battle of Jutland is also historically significant as the first engagement where a scout plane was launched from a military vessel, reconnoitered the local area for the enemy fleet and was returned safely to home base.  This feat of aviation history was performed by British Lt. F.J. Rutland who was launched from the HMS Engadine.  This young lieutenant is now written into British lore as "Rutland of Jutland".

Remarcks
-----------

Both sides are provided with a limited number of marines embarked on destroyer transports.  To win, the player must reduce the enemy fleet to the point where the marines can safely move to, and capture the objective.  The objectives are symbolically marked as Admirals Scheer, Hipper, Jellico and Beatty.  The objectives hexes are actually "city" hexes disguised as "ocean" hexes.

This scenario is specifically designed to be used as a single player scenario with the AI playing the Allied (British) side.
