Background
----------------

In the second half of 1916, the British left their defensive positions along the Suez Canal and started moving into the Sinai.  These actions were precipitated by an abortive August 4th attack by the Turks against the Suez from their positions around the village of Romani.  The more numerous, and better-supplied, English army readily stopped the Turks and for a while threatened to encircle the Turkish army.  The overly cautious British commander, General Sir Archibald Murray, moved too slowly to complete the maneuver and the Turks escaped.

After a month of consolidation and improvement upon his lines of communication through the Sinai, Murray launched his Sinai offensive.  This action would eventually clear the Turks from their positions at El Arish and Maghdaba, thereby providing the base of operations into Palestine.

This scenario begins with the Turks facing destruction in the Romani pocket and concludes with their defense of the objectives in the Gaza.  The time period is roughly August through December 1916.

 Victory Conditions
 -----------------------:
The Turks must escape the encirclement at Romani and move eastward into defensive positions; otherwise, the British will capture El Arish and Maghdaba.  British landing parties must also be guarded against.

Remarcks
--------------
This scenario is designed to be played solitaire against the AI from the Turkish side.  For PBM games, the Turks should have an extra +2 in prestige in order to compensate for the numbers of allied troops.
