TWELVE BLEMISHES OF THE CHURCH

Rev. David Mattocks
FOREWORD

Rev 19:7
Let us be glad and rejoice; and give honor unto Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and the bride hath made herself ready.

Being without blemish is the message of the hour. Christ is coming for a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, but one that is holy and without blemish. Those who are His Bride will have all spots and blemishes removed from their lives
(Ephesians 5:26-27)

Here are some words that depict the message of the hour: Undefiled, unblameable, unreproachable, unreprovable, blameless, faultless, without spot, without guile, holy, without blemish, perfect, and others. These words show us what we are called to be and they must become a reality in us in order for us to become His Bride.
A beautiful garment that has a stain is of little worth. Many men and ministries are "spotted" with something and because of this their effectiveness and worth is depreciated immensely. God wants to apply blemish remover to all these areas that would disqualify us.

Scripture mentions many men who were righteous, but not holy. Of several kings in the Old Testament is is said that they "did that which was right in the sight of the Lord," "Yet they removed not the high places." This meant that they had other forms of devotion and worship around them, although they also practiced justice and fairness before God and men. This is also true of many Christians. They love fairness, and they will go on marches protesting abortion, gay rights, pornography, etc., and yet have other forms of devotion and idols in their hearts. A Christian can do right acts, while still having other "loves" in his heart. True holiness involves our thoughts, our desires, our affections and our motives becoming pure. Thus God wants to elevate His Church from the realm of being righteous, up to the realm of being holy. A Christian can be righteous, while having hardness and criticism in his spirit.
