Dream 3 (RF2292)
From: June 7, 2002
General Notes: Well…this happens to be a romance, something I'm quite new to…It won't be very similar to past dreams…Most of it was dialogue-based, and since it's been several days since the dream, I've forgotten a lot of it…I'll improvise the best I can.
Characters:
Me (about nine months older, close to six feet tall)
Allison…the love interest…
-Profile: down to earth, kindly, easygoing…smooth black hair, tall (but a couple inches shorter than me), slender, tan-skinned, simply mesmerizing.
Max…the rival
-resembles Shyaam in terms of looks…cocky, arrogant, conniving…his only positive is that he comes out appearing as a nice guy to the opposite sex.
Setting: varies at times, includes CCHS-like facility, a bus, and what appears to be Northlake Mall.
Here goes…Allison and I are strolling down the hallway on the way to the school bus, and we're going back and forth in conversation.
Allison: “You wouldn't believe what she said to me!”
Me: “I bet I would.”
Allison (laughs): “She said I was the laziest person she's ever taught!”
I laugh out loud, knowing the real truth. She's actually very proficient in the class, but her teachers are always criticizing her for her constant daydreaming.
Me: “That's quite funny, you know. You should be a comedian.”
Allison elbows me in the ribs, causing me to recoil. She's laughing, and I'm wincing in pain, but it's no issue. We walk on in silence towards the bus, as I quicken the pace with no response.
Fast forward to the bus…we're on our way to the shuttle (as for seating, I'm at the back, Allison is in the seat across from mine, and Max is sitting coy in front of her…in front of me sits Kalin, and in front of him sits Sathya), and I'm quietly pondering Things of Unimportance. I'm considering a course of action for my homework, how to approach my parents about a car, and how to recruit Allison to watch Alias on ABC…and then the unbelievable happens.
Max moseys up to her seat and suddenly launches headlong into conversation with her. At first, I'm cool with it (my character being possessive as he is), seeing it that there's nothing new to discuss. But then things get interesting. Max moves even closer to Allison, so that they're eye to eye. This has my attention. I'm staring over there intently, knowing exactly what Max has up his sleeve and hoping he doesn't do what I think he's doing. So much for my hoping.
Max: “So, uh, Allison, would you be willing to go out with me on Saturday? We could go to Northlake (I didn't hear that part) in my weekend car…(with emphasis, although if he really had a car, wouldn't he be driving home?)”
Allison (clearly shocked and somewhat flattered): “Uh, wow, I've never been asked out before…Sure, Max, I have time for a date.”
My jaw drops in both shock and fear. I'm in sheer disbelief…shock, really.
Allison is ecstatic, in her own little way of showing happiness…She's smiling to herself, looking quite self-satisfied. She turns to me and the smile fades…
Allison: “Aren't you happy for me?”
Me (not meaning it at all): “Yeah, of course.”
Allison (knows right away): “It's about what just happened?”
Me (sarcastic): “No, it's about what happened last year.”
Allison's smile has reversed itself. She moves across the seat to confront me.
Allison: “Trust me, guy. What I just did won't affect what we've got. Trust me. This is just a `me' thing, something I'd try out…Are you insecure?”
Me: “That's beside the point. But thanks for calming me down, anyway.”
Allison: “No problem, really. It's not serious.”
And that was that. Fortuitously, I had this urge to stop by Northlake on the same Saturday as this date. So I'm browsing the Electronics Boutique on the lower level. Max and Allison enter from the Sears side of the mall. They stop by at the food courts for a drink and a quick bite. They then make their way to the Blockbuster Music (or something like that) almost directly across from the EB…I know nothing of their whereabouts, and for the moment, don't really care.
I'm walking out, feeling satisfied after purchasing NASCAR 2003 (a PC racing game currently still in development)…and I decide on going into the Blockbuster to pick up another set of headphones (In real life, I've gone through at least four sets of headphones in the past 3.5 years).
I'm headed over to the music section, but a strange display of emotions catches my eye. I strain for a closer look, and immediately wish I hadn't. Max and Allison are standing by a set of CDs, passionately kissing like no man's business. Max is clearly the perpetuator, holding her by the back, and Allison is visibly less than pleased with what's going on.
I'm enraged at this sight, and once I regain control over my emotions, I rush over to them and purposely bump into Allison. She recoils in shock, and Max pulls back, revealing a sick, glossy smirk.
Me: “Oh, am I interrupting something?”
Allison: “It's not what it seems! He was forcing me to do it!”
Me: “Sure, right. And you couldn't break free of it.”
Max: “She couldn't resist me.”
Allison turns to me, her eyes pleading. She momentarily breaks free of Max's grip, but he roughly pulls back. I examine her to measure her sincerity…and then I pounce on Max. We wrestle around the CDs, breaking everything from Alicia Keys to the Backstreet Boys…And then he pulls a gun on me…And then…nothing…
