1:72 AERO A.100
'INBOX Review'

Reviewer: John Lacey (rec.models.scale)
In addition to an ongoing love affair with all that is "what if?", I admit to loving ugly planes. 1930s vintage French aircraft fit the bill and are a favourite, following the release of many of some of the most unaesthetically pleasing airframes ever to have flown from Heller and SMER.
KP's A.100 although of Czech manufacture certainly rates as "homely" being a large biplane with a engine added to the fuselage almost as an afterthought, so when I spied it in a pre-loved bin it was a must buy.
Instructions are typically KP with multilingual history, parts breakdown and a list of available kits (at the time of printing). Exploded diagrams abound, showing a moderately detailed interior with twin MGs, spare ammo drums and other cockpit details. Four bombs are supplied of 100kg and 200kg sizes.
Mouldings are early KP, a little flashy with raised panel lines, some sink marks and other minor imperfections that are either the bane of modellers or merely taken with a grain of salt. People reading my reviews will note that I rarely quote dimensions during a review, being an 'if it looks right, it is' sorta guy. References about this biplane will be few and far between and more likely sourced from Eastern Europe for any wishing to follow the superdetail path.
Decals are also, unfortunately, early KP being a large single sheet of cloudy decal sheet with subjects needing to be individually removed and of generally ordinary quality although the three options supplied have well detailed unit badges in two instances and provided with codes and serials for 3 unidentified machines. Eastern European readers may be able to shed more light here.
Colour schemes are standard Czech pre-war and noted on the box only although surprisingly, colours are not noted. That said, a dark olive green over light blue lowers should suffice.
In conclusion, it's a KP kit of an unusual subject notwithstanding ordinary decals although I believe some aftermarket concerns may be helpful in this regard.
