REVELL (ITALERI) 1:72 BAe "RED ARROWS" HAWK
'INBOX Review'

Reviewer: Adam Cooper  (taken from rec.models.scale)

The Revell 1/72 Red Arrows Hawk has arrived  and it is (as suspected by some) the Italeri Kit reboxed.

Plastic a parts are moulded in Red (surprise surprise).  Despite the box art showing the Red's (Smoke Tank) no attempt has been made to portray this - all the instructions do is advise you to cut the barrel off the usual underbelly Gun Pod - (NOT THE SAME SHAPE AT ALL - As we all know!)

The decals look nice though - 2 schemes:  The Reds Of course but with the amended markings that they displayed last year (The RAF 2000 logo) and they seem to have codes for all the team.

The other option is a Red & White Swiss air force trainer - pity they didn't choose something else as this is included in the standard Italeri release. Not sure whether it's exactly the same aircraft (serial no..) though.

The decal sheet is printed in Italy and looks to be quite nice - not like those horrible thick German printed sheets of a year or so ago.

White markings are provided for the red arrows scheme - looked fairly dense on the sheet - but only trying them for real would show.

And the price for this ??? :  Well for a change Revell don't seemed to have hiked the price of an Italeri re-boxing it is £3.99 - (same as Italeri I think)

LSA models [www.lsamodels.fsnet.co.uk] have some in stock as of today for those that want one and of course being Eduard's importer they have the 1/72 etch set as well.
