AMODEL 1:72 SUKHOI SU-15TM FLAGON
'In The Box Review'

Just received my two in the post from NKR Models (another 5 day wonder delivery!).

Gotta say that this company (AModel) is seriously going from strength to strength, and this is the best yet without a doubt.  All panel lines are crisp and even, there is full wheel well detail and even lettering on the tyre sidewalls. The intakes are in 3 parts each side and nicely deep. . you may want to add some turbine faces tho'. Ailerons and flaps are separate and positionable. There is a full interior, tho' the smaller parts may need some cleaning up, it should look pretty good. Comes with a pair of R-98M and a pair of R-60 AAM's as well as the twin 23mm cannon pods. The Aphids aren't up to much but the Anabs should be usable with a little attention.

Model represents a series 8 and later SU-15TM with the ogival radome. My only reservations are the canopy, which is still not up to much (perhaps vac a replacement or nick one from the KP SU-7, which, if I recall correctly was pretty good and had two in the kit anyway), and the mounting of the intakes to the fuselage, I'm not sure if they have got them angled out correctly, but it's difficult to tell before I have one together.

Markings are for two Soviet era NM aircraft (including the KAL Jumbo killer. . quelle surprise!) , a Russian aircraft in camouflage and an NM Ukranian aircraft. Decals are matt but register is spot on and the colours look good. There are no kill markings, although one of the other options does have 9 red star kill markings (maybe exercise kills?).

Initial impression? I'm hugely impressed with just how good this company is getting, and the SU-15 represents, thus far, the pinnacle of this. Good looking kit of a great looking aeroplane.
