DRAGON
1:72 Modern Soviet Aircraft Weapons: set 2
(Air to Surface Missiles)
'In The Box Review'

Dragon's Soviet ASM's kit includes a range of ASM's and other stores not usually kitted by other mainstream manufacturers and if kitted by Eastern European companies are of dubious quality. As such, this set allows modern Russian aircraft kits produced by a number of manufacturers to be appropriately armed.
Stores include 2 of each:
AS-7 'Kerry'
AS-10 'Karen' ASM & Rail
AS-11 'Kilter' ASM & Rail
AS-12 'Kegler' ASM & Rail
AS-14 'Kedge' ASM & Rail
KMG-U Dispenser
SPPU-22 Gun Pod
UPK-23 Gun Pod
and 6 of 300mm Rockets

The instruction sheet give building and painting & decaling guides for each store, in addition to a large stores table for the Su-22, Su-24, Su-25 and MiG-27. Gunze Sanygo, Mr Colour and Italeri paints are called in addition to English titles and FS numbers where applicable.
The mouldings are multi part affairs with finely detailed surfaces, thin, scale thickness fins and a mix of engraved & raised panel detail. The SPPU-22 Gun Pod also has provision for the barrels to be depressed, applicable in a strafing run.
One small decal sheet of stencilling is provided, including some small striping.
In conclusion, a well received set of stores for Soviet/CIS aircraft and certainly worth investing in to detail any such subjects. One is reminded of the overall quality of Dragon's superlative Quartermaster series in 1:35th scale.
