Marin was the son of Jacques Boucher and Francoise Paigne of Mortagne, France.

Marin Boucher came over from Perche, France, in early 1634 aboard the ship St. Jehan which was under the command of Captain Pierre Nesle. He was accompanied by his second wife Perinne Mallet and two of their children. With them was Francois, Marin's son from his first marriage, his cousin Gaspard, his wife Nicole Lemaine and their children.

They were met by Champlain and taken to Fort St. Louis. (the Hotel Frontenac in Quebec City now sits on the site of the original Fort St. Louis)

There were 40 people aboard who were censituaries of Robert Giffard. Giffard and Juchereau had recruited these people in Perche, France.

When Samuel de Champlain, the great explorer died in 1635, one of the bequests in his will left Marin Boucher "the suit of clothes which I had made (for me) from the cloth I bought at the store".

Our line continues through Marin's daughter Marie Boucher who married Charles Godin in 1656 in Quebec.
