The origin of Robert Charon is not completely clear. He was born abt. 1611 possibly Saint-Onge, France. He arrived in Quebec on June 4, 1634, Whit Sunday.

On October 25, 1637 he married Marie Crevet in the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Recouvrance, Quebec.

Marie came from Benouville, Normandy, the daughter of Pierre Crevet and Marie LeMercier.

This couple had seven children. One, Marie, is tragic. She married Jean Picard in 1656. They only had one child, a daughter Louise.On June 5 1660, a party of eight Huron and Iroquois captured her and 4 children. When the party reached the point of Levy, the French accompanied by Algonquin Indians, intercepted them. During the fight Marie received a fatal wound.

In 1661 he married Marguerite Gagnon daughter of Jean Gagnon and Marguerite Cochon.

Another child is Aimee Charon born 1656 and who marries Noel Langlois in 1677.

Robert Charon seems to have died suddenly as he was only 44 or 45 years old. The cause of death is unknown.

July 27, 1666, ten years after his death, his wife Marie Crevet marries Noel Langlois widower of Francoise Garnier.

Marie Crevet died November 22, 1695 at the age of 86 years old.
