For the "Little Saints" program, the focus is to help our preschoolers
grow in the Catholic faith. Prayers, Bible stories, stories about
Saints, and music can help accomplish this goal. The CRATE, which will
store our classroom and resource materials, has lots of books and
resources from which to draw themes and ideas when it is your turn to
"teach." Please feel free to draw upon your own resources, knowledge and
ideas as well. As parents of preschoolers, we know their attention spans
can be short. Moving to different activities will hopefully help in
making class time run smoothly. Think short activities, such as, open
with prayer, move into other activities: bible or saint story, finger
play, craft, "free play" time (maybe outside), snack time, another story,
game, etc. Class time will be 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Basically we are all
left to our own "freedom" when it's our turn to teach, keeping mindful of
faithfulness to the Church and our little ones. (You may also want to
consider children's ability and clean-up when deciding on certain crafts
(no glitter please!)).
As a Co-op, it is important for all of us work cooperatively and
collectively in charity and love. If the scheduled time slot you are in
does not work out for you, either contact me (please let me know soon!)
or find another Mom to switch dates with you. Please mark and check your
calendars as soon as possible. If you do not have an "assigned" position
during a co-op day (teens, Blue Knights, Little Flowers), please feel
free to pitch in and help with the preschoolers - or wherever there is a
need (Moms of 1-2 year olds may need some assistance!). Basically, we
need everyone's help!
