Surveys

These surveys are conducted informally.  Information is collected from visitors to this site, the Brat List (some surveys), and  the newsgroup can.military-brats.  These surveys are in no way statistically sound, they reflect the composition of the people that decided to respond (so the more people in the survey the better!).

If you would like to participate in a survey, fill in the e-mail form on this page.

TRAVEL:   Is the travel bug inherent to military life and therefore bratdom?
Please respond only if you are a canadian military brat (the school survey also needs some input . . . hint, hint!).  I ask you to submit your  age because the opportunity to live oversease as a canadian military brat has decreased over the years and may affect the answers to the other questions.  Results will be posted for age groups if there is a correlation.   Results for February are in!

MARRIAGE:    Do brats marry other brats more often than not?
Do they marry into the military more often than not?
This has been brought up in the can.military-brats newsgroup. This is an informal survey, in no way statistically sound. It reflects the composition of the married brats in can.military-brats who decided to respond and contributions by e-mail. I have also added in some brats from the Brat List. This survey is ongoing and the final results are not yet in.

It appears that the majority of us brats marry non-brats, but many marry back into the military (used to the lifestyle, maybe?). Note: the brat-married-to-brat category counts BOTH the brats in the marriage.

Participants: 66 (includes applicable info from BratList)
Couples accounted for: 75
Brats who married brats: 24 (12 couples)
Brats who married into the military: 17 (14 female, 3 male)
