Well about last month I was going out to the Mall near my house with my dad and I found a book on dogs at the bookstore. I pick up the book and read it. This story makes me quite a bit sad to know about the ending of this story. This story is about one Thai stray dog who is very loyal to one American soldier. Well let me tell you this story now. So here is the story:
During the Vietnam War, the Americans have settled in Ubon Ratchathani in Thailand. It was a soldier camp and an airport. Well there was a group soldiers eating their dinner in
their place, and there come these stray dogs waiting for the food. Well the American soldiers gave them bones and anything that is left. There was one day, when "Sargent Mike" saw the soldiers feeding the dog. He went into the kitchen and feed this dog some chickens and nice meal. He did this often and the dog was treating him like an owner. This dog followed him anywhere he goes without him even knowing. When Sargent Mike was in bed, this dog slept at his front porch almost everynight. Off course Sargent Mike was a kind man so he fed this dog alot of good food. Thai Soldiers were quite jealous and some were trying to play with this dog but it barked at them all. So that dog really loved Sargent Mike. One day, Sargent Mike was sent to Phillipines and while
the plane was running on the runway, this dog was running after the plane rapidly to follow his beloved owner. But the dog watched as the plane disappeared into the air. After that day, the life of that dog was useless and disappearing. The dog sat at Sargent Mike's front porch and he kept on sitting and staying there without moving at all. The other soldiers were
trying to feed this dog and it refused to eat and even barked ferociously at the other soldiers. It will only the food fed by its master. It hasn't eaten for weeks, days, and months. By that
time it was so thin and unhealthy. Before it use to be healthy and strong dog but now its different. The soldiers decided that
they didn't want this dog to suffer anymore so they took out the M-16 gun and shot it BANG! BANG! BANG! until the poor dog is dead. Well the soldiers shot the dog because of "love".
