The Band

RAMMS+EIN, the best band in the world, is made up of six men from Germany (former East Germany, actually). Here are some basics on them. I did the birthdays in MM/DD/YY format. And I even found out the day of the week!!

The Music

RAMMS+EIN (RAHM-SHTINE, roll the R, even though I can't -=sob=-)- Many names have been given to describe our German rockers. Flake said someone once that I totally forgot (it was long), and I've heard the words Tanz-Metal or Dance-Metal a lot. Industrial has been used. Heavy metal has been used. But overall, it's everything, like in Flake's description. I promise I'll look for it.
RAMMS+EIN are bigger than some of you might think. Their first CD was Herzeleid and was on the German Top 10 for 2 years until their second CD, Sehnsucht, came out, debuting at Number One. They've made plenty of music videos, too bad America doesn't play any of them, except the occasional Du Hast and the apparent debut of Sehnsucht on MTV.

HERZELEID: RAMMS+EIN's first album. The cover became a big issue in Germany, even though it was just a stupid photo with no meaning at all. The cover was different in America, but Yours Truly got the import. Then it started skipping, so I gave it to Mom, kept the cover, and bought a new one with the American cover.

SEHNSUCHT: RAMMS+EIN's second album. The cover in Germany had the title written right on the jewel case, so you could have any member on the front. So naturally they don't do this kind of cool thing in America. So I'm stuck with Schneider even though I like the Flake pik better...oh well. You know, for some reason I keep cracking the case by accident...I handed over my first Sehnsucht CD to Mom when the later version with Stripped came out. She actually likes the English versions of Du Hast and Engel.

Then there's the latest one, Live aus Berlin, which is a live album. I ordered the import double CD, so that I'll put up later. I'm too lazy to do any more today and put up what's on the single CD.
MUSIC VIDEOS: I've seen most by now. DRSG'95 you can see here (if I can get the CD-ROM drive to open then you'll get the better QuickTime one). Others I have on videotape. The only two I haven't seen fully are Seemann and DRSG'98. But I've seen pieces of each, plus piktures.

And don't forget ASCHE ZU ASCHE, which I learned was a video when my friend won a tape full of videos on eBay. I have no idea when it was made so forget trying to make me put it in order. Who wants order anyway?!
Note how there are two Du Riechst So Gut's. This is because the one from 1995 sucked. Have a look-see (if you haven't yet)and commence laughing. It was incredibly dumb, so funny, no wonder they changed it in 1998. It's a whole new side to RAMMS+EIN! There were also two versions of Du Hast. The German one and the American one. They were both in German, of course, but the German one had better stuff in it. It was a little longer I think and added a few scenes (or should I say, the American version was shorter and cut out a few scenes). Du Hast and Engel make me want to go out and rent a few Tarantino movies. Sehnsucht didn't premiere in America yet, and I doubt it ever will (stupid, stuuupid MTV!!). I got the video in advance (they had promo copies) for free at our local independent CD store, and also I saw it taped. We at first thought it was a stupid live show where Till and everyone were lip synching. THEN we find out it's the video. Thank God.
RAMMS+EIN also has two home videos I know of. The Family Values '98 tape isn't really theirs, but they are in it. The other is Live Aus Berlin, which actually has a Censored and Uncensored version. The Censored one (for children under 18, although no one really cares and gets the Uncensored for everyone, like me -=smile=-) is without the infamous Bück Dich (now apparently spelled Bueck Dich, although I like the ü better than the ue) scene Till and Flake got arrested for and thrown in jail overnight for in Worchsester, Mass. just this year. Some people say this video sucked. I say it kicked some serious ass. So do most of the other RAMMS+EIN fans out there.
Well, that's about it. Unless you want me going over my bootleg tapes, which my friend got then let me copy to another tape. But that won't be necessary...ja?

HEY PEOPLE LOOK LOOK!! I found my way through FortuneCity again and I'm baaaack!! Waaaah!!
So. It's not like I come bearing any updates, but I can direct you to my new webpage, one which isn't RAMMS+EIN orientated but which is updated every Sunday, and may include a RAMMS+EIN fansite eventually. Like, when I get the time.
I have nothing else to say except I'm surprised no one laughed at my little Guestbook entry that explained my FortuneCity problem. I also have to say that I really love you guys, and without your support this site'd be long gone, taken down, condemned and burnt to a crisp so that nothing remained on the WWW at all. Not to mention the self-confidence boost. And the reminder that I can't draw, as to motivate me to learn. Not like I got much better, but I got a little better, and I happen to LIKE drawing half-men half-eel vampire hybrid type guys. They're cool. Go Rahab. -=smirk=-
