Games
I enjoy most of the boards games that have been transferred to the computer. Especially word games. I like patience too and have a couple of probably the best versions on the internet. Not keen on the average shoot em up or role play types although I do have one game I can spend 10 minutes dealing out death and destruction to things out there. Also enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles on the computer.
It is good to be able to switch to a game for 5 minutes if I suddenly get stuck for an idea or there is a problem on the computer.
I have several to choose from and may play the same game for weeks on end and then get fed up with it and switch to a new one.
I would like a recommendation from out there for a good crossword program, not too expensive and preferably downloadable. English language software is not easy to get over the counter here in Spain. In any case I find now that I buy very little off line. It is so easy and convenient on the internet to download, try it out and then decide whether or not to buy. A good system.
Boggle..... A faithful representation of the original. Bought on the High Street. Variations with it.
Scrabble..... As above. Plays very well, too well if you don't choose your opponent with care. Bought on the High Street.
Solsuite 2001..... This is a huge collection of solitaire games in a very well wrapped package. It is updated at frequent intervals. Excellent. A must have for solitaire players. Click for a free download.
Pretty Good Solitaire 2K..... Exactly the same remarks as above apply to this package. I have both and wouldn't care to choose between them. Another must have. Click for a free download.
Upwords..... This is a board game where you not only build words across and down but up, as the name suggests. Bought on the High Street.
Words Of Fortune..... Good word game with a couple of good twists to it. Not always easy to play. A good freebie.
Swarm..... The only blaster type game I use but it's a cracker. Downloaded off the internet as a demo and then bought the full game. Do have a look.
Jigsaw Puzzles..... Very good representation, given the limits of screen and mouse. I like it very much.
Dxtris..... A good Tetris clone. Another game I enjoy playing for a few minutes.
Reversi..... An old game but this is a good one. Shareware. Very cheap. Has many variations and player strengths.
