Hunger

People are starving;
That's always been true.
But we've a solution brewing
That's sure to come through.

Produce much more food,
And those people will be fed;
On hunger none shall brood
If we provide them bread.

Alas! This solution much-praised
Has been tried before, to no avail;
Our food production has been raised
Thousands of years--without fail!

Yet the hungry go on starving
Of them there are now more;
And we continue producing
More food than we did before.

Of high food production, it's untrue
That more people will be fed;
Food produced is more akin to
People produced, versus dead.
