Example Blue: Recessive you need 2 visual blue birds paired together or 1 visual paired to a split(blue gene carrier) to get any visual young. It doesn't make any difference which bird is visual or split (cock or hen) on these pairings. e.g:-
1.Normal x Blue = 100% Normal/blue
2. Normal/blue x Normal/blue = 50% Normal/blue,
25% Normal, 25% Blue
3. Normal/blue x Blue = 50% Blue, 50% Normal/blue
4. Blue x Blue = 100% Blue
NOTE: Pairing number 2, you cannot tell the difference visually between the young, Normal/split blue & Normals. The only way to find out if their split is to test pair to proven splits or visual blues.
