Orhan Kurt
performer and figuremaker
He was born in Istanbul in 1930. He was
very talented in music and atr when he
was young. Then he met his master
Ragip Tugtekin in 1957. He was
apprentice and student for twenty two
years.He learned how to make Karagoz
figures and performing from his master.
A performance
Orhan Kurt still having performances and
making workshops. He works as a teacher in
many courses about making figures,
performing and karagoz music. He has
plaques and prizes whish are given for his
services to Turkish Culture.

His shadow figures are on display in the
museums that are in Germany, Japan,
France and Enland. He performed
karagoz play many times in
international festivals..
He is the second chairman of UNIMA
Turkey.
