At that</div> <div> age I returned to Basel, Switzerland, to enter an internship of the hotel</div> <div> profession. After 3 years at the Hotel Metropol on the Barfuesserplatz </div> <div> and 2 years at 5 star Hotel Drei Koenige(built in 1180) I decided to</div> <div> emigrate to Montreal, Canada, Here I worked at the famous Ritz Carlton</div> <div> Hotel. After a couple of years, brushing with world celebrities there,</div> <div> I applied and was hired by Canadian Pacific Airlines as a flight attendant.</div> <div> They moved me to the beautiful west coast city of Vancouver, BC. </div> <div> Here I met and married a girl from the Bernese Oberland. </div> <div> These years in Vancouver are very memorable to me, my time spent</div> <div> mostly on" Robson Strasse" the hub of german speaking immigrants. </div> <div> with all it's German restaurants and delicatessen stores. </div> <div> Today, all that has changed. </div> <bR> <div> <B>United States</B></div> <div> In 1962, the year of the Seattle World's fair we decided to immigrate to</div> <div> the USA, we got stranded in Portland, Oregon where we still live today.</div> <div> We have 3 grown children, and  5 grandchildren My wife and I</div> <div> are celebrating our 40th. Anniversary this year. </div> <div> In Portland and a few other cities in Oregon, I worked as a restaurant and</div> <div> hotel manager for Hilton, Sheraton and Red Lions.
