Bernhard Max Carl Bröker a native of the
Netherlands. He was raised and schooled in the Netherlands, immigrated
to the USA in 1960 and subsequently got drafted into the US Army as a
paratrooper.
He saw action in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967, saw tours in Germany and the
Netherlands, and spent some time in the Sinai and Panama while in the military.
Then became a Deputy Sheriff with the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Department
in Georgetown Colorado, and then joined the Aurora Police Department in
Aurora Colorado. He retired from the Aurora Police Department to become
the Chief of Police for the Town of Fairplay in October of 1999. Chief
Bröker holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia
College in Missouri and an Associate in Arts Degree in Law Enforcement
from the University of Maryland in Maryland.
