You are at http://www.fortunecity.com/millenium/abbeydale/183/tapestry.htm
Materials: Coats & Clark Lustersheen Crochet yarn (any 2 colors of your choice--referred to color A and color B)
Crochet hook, size 1/2.75MM
Note: This is a tapestry crochet pattern based upon my Decorative Edge Filet Bookmark pattern (pattern #41 on Crochet...Gotta Love It! page--link at the bottom of this page).
To change colors, complete last sc of 1 color according to chart and do last pull-thru with new color. Also, always work over unused color to "carry" it along in your work so that it will be handy when it is time to start using new color.
Each block in chart represents 2 sc across. For example, for 1 block on chart, you will crochet 1 sc in each of next 2 st....2 blocks means 1 sc in each of next 4 sc and so on. The dark-colored blocks represent one color and the light-colored blocks represent your second color.
Ch 57.
Row 1: (With color A) sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 25 ch, (switch to color B and do last pull-thru on last 25th sc), 1 sc in each of next 4 ch, (switch to color A) 1 sc in each of next 26 ch; ch 1, turn now and throughout when turning).
Row 2: 1 Sc in each of next 2 sc, (switch to color B) 1 sc in each of next 12 sc, (switch to color A), 1 sc in each of next 8 sc, (switch to color B) 1 sc in each of next 12 sc, (switch to color A) 1 sc in each of next 8 sc, (switch to color B) 1 sc in each of next 12 sc, (switch to color A) 1 sc in each of next 2 sc; ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 -- 8: Continue pattern according to chart. At the end of Row 8, turn and sl st across last row with color A (not too tightly though). Fasten off and sew in all ends well with a large-eyed sewing needle.
