You are at: http://www.fortunecity.com/millenium/abbeydale/183/viola.htm

Materials:Variegated crochet thread size 10 (bedspread weight cotton); Crochet hook size 5 (or any size you are comfortable with using size 10 thread)

Note:This also works up beautifully with DMC Perle cotton and I like to use a size 2 or 3 hook when using perle cotton. Also, I prefer to use a variegated thread for this flower, but a solid color thread will turn out pretty too. :)

Starting at center, ch 10. Join with sl st to form a ring.

Round 1:(Ch 4, 5 tr in ring, ch 4, sl st in ring) 5 times.

Round 2:Sl st in next 4 ch, * ch 4, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr, make tr in next 5 tr, yarn over and draw thru all loops on hook (cluster), ch 5, sl st in tip of cluster (picot), ch 4, sl st in top of chain on previous rnd on same petal, ch 7, sl st in top of chain on next petal. Repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.
