THE BRYANT FAMILY

William Bryant married Lizzie Jones.  According to the marriage bond of their daughter, Rebecca, they were both born in Harrison County, Kentucky, and were living there in 1871.  They had the following child:
1.  Rebecca Frances Bryant, born November 11, 1854

Rebecca Bryant married James Bell, the son of John and Sarah Pack Bell on December 21, 1871, in Harrison County, Kentucky.  The marriage was performed by David Foley  James Bell was born in December, 1840, and was the son of John and Sarah Pack Bell.

James and Rebecca Bell were living in Fleming County, Kentucky, at the time of the 1900 census.  James Bell died on August 15, 1917, and Rebecca Bell died on March 25, 1937.  They are buried in the Muses Mills Cemetery in Fleming County, Kentucky.

The following is a list of the children of James and Rebecca Bell:

1.   Anna Elizabeth Bell, born July, 1874, married Frank Wolf.
2.   John Bell, who married Nola ___________.
3.   Lillie Bell, known as Betsy, born March, 1878, married Charles Rollins,
      who lived from July 11, 1868 until March 31, 1943.
4.   Thomas Bell, who married Sally ____________.
5.   Melinda Bell (see below)
6.   Lucian Bell, born January, 1887, married Darnie Marshall.
7.   Newton Bell, born September, 1893 (1891?), died October 10, 1918.  He
      was a corporal in the United States Army during World War I, and died
      during the war.  He is buried in the Muses Mills Cemetery in Fleming
      County, Kentucky.
8.   Amanda Bell, born September, 1893 (1891?), a twin to Newton Bell,
      married Richard McKee.  Amanda Bell McKee died on March 2, 1975.
9.   Nola Bell, born September 11, 1895, died May 5, 1964, married
      James Wilson.
10. Lispie Bell, born March, 1898.
 

Melinda Bell, the daughter of James and Rebecca Frances Bryant Bell, married
John Preston Whalen, who was born on August 6, 1885, in Fleming County,
Kentucky, on April 25, 1905 in Fleming County, Kentucky, at the home of James Bell.  Melinda Bell Whalen was born February 11, 1883, in Harrison County, Kentucky.  John and Melinda Whalen later moved to Mason County, Kentucky, and then on to Brown County, Ohio.  John Whalen died February 13, 1959 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.  Melinda Whalen died on September 28, 1975.  They are both buried at the Wedonia Cemetery.
