David A. Holdaway, born

David Crockett Holdaway
was born about 1841 in Virginia. He married Sarah Brewer, daughter
of Ezra and Polly Thomas Brewer. She was born about 1851. Crockett
Holdaway, as he was more commonly referred to, served in the Confederate
Army during the Civil War. He died on July 15 or August 15, 1912.
Sarah Brewer Holdaway died on July 16, 1937. They are buried in a
family cemetery on their land.

known as Lum, was born about 1874. He married Lula
Stone, who was born in North Carolina in about 1874. They were living
in
Grayson County, Virginia, at the time of the 1910 census.
Columbus and
Lula Holdaway are buried in the Pine Branch Cemetery in Grayson County,
Virginia.
3. Rush Holdaway,
born about 1878, married Rosa Rutherford, who
was born about 1885 and died in 1966. They are buried in the
Pine Branch Cemetery in Grayson County, Virginia.
4. Mintis Holdaway
was born about 1888. She never married, and
is buried in the family cemetery with her parents.
5. Hershel Holdaway,
born about 1891. He never married, and is
buried in the family cemetery with his parents.
6. Verna Holdaway,
born about 1895, married Ed Holdaway. She is
buried at the Grubb's Chapel Cemetery in Grayson County,
Virginia.
