John South, born about
1802 in Virginia, married Celia Betsy Wilson, who was also born in Virginia.
She lived from October 25, 1801 until June 28, 1871. They were married
in Grayson County, Virginia, on September 16, 1824. John South was
listed in the Grayson County Census for the years 1830, 1840, 1850, and
1860. John and Celia South were the parents of the following
children:

born about 1831
4. Lesaphina
(Serphina) South, born February, 1832, died March 22, 1909,
married John Pool on March 17, 1851. He lived from 1829 until October,
1878.

born about 1835
7. Hester South,
born about 1838
8. Creed Henderson
South, born March 14, 1841, died March 3, 1926, in
Grayson County, Virginia, married Peggy A. Daniel on March 19, 1868.
She
was born March 14, 1848, and died in 1934. They were living in Grayson
County during the 1910 census.
Clark William South,
born about 1828 in Virginia, married Sophronia (Sophrina) Davis on September
4, 1851, in Ash County, North Carolina. She was born in 1833 and
died in 1870. They are both buried at Meadow Creek. They had
the following children:

South, born 1857, married Alfred Gentry.

born about 1860
6. Thomas Clark
South, born 1866, married Nancy Lizzie Wilson, who was born
in June, 1865. They were living in Grayson County, Virginia, in 1910, and
had been married for 23 years at that time.
7. Will (Wiley
Preston) South, born March 27, 1865, married Mary ______. They
had one son, and lived in Medina, Ohio.

After the death of Sophronia
South, Clark South married Fidella (Dellie) Norman in March, 1872.
She was born in March, 1851. I believe she was the mother of the
following children of Clark South:
1. Celia E. South,
born May, 1884
2. Floyd A. South,
born about 1888, married Margaret _______. She was
Hungarian. They had 12 children and lived near Aurora, Ohio.
After the death of Clark
South, Fidella South married William Davis, who was born September, 1854.
As of July 2, 1900, they had been married seven years. They were
listed in the 1900 census for Grayson County, which stated that Fidella
had six children, four of which were living at that time. Celia and
Floyd South were living
with them in 1900, as well as their child, Ira J. Davis, born August, 1894.
William Joice South,
born April 15, 1872, married Lillie Emiline Wilson, who was born December,
1877, in Grayson County, Virginia. They were married in Alleghany
County, North Carolina, on August 30, 1891. They are both buried
at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
