1. Achilles¹ Deatherage, son of William Deatherage and Susan Eastham, was born June 23, 1742. Achilles died October 5, 1807 in Madison Co., KY, at 65 years of age.

He married Ann Lewis in Virginia, ca 1767. Ann was born May 16, 1742. Ann died March 22, 1825 in Madison Co., KY, at 82 years of age. Ann became the mother of Margaret Deatherage ca 1768. Ann became the mother of Achilles Deatherage ca 1770. Ann became the mother of Lucy Deatherage ca 1772. Ann became the mother of William Deatherage ca 1774. Ann became the mother of George B. Deatherage ca 1779. At 39 years of age Ann became the mother of Bird Deatherage March 2, 1782. At 39 years of age Ann became the mother of Amos Deatherage March 2, 1782.

Achilles became the father of Margaret Deatherage ca 1768. Achilles became the father of Achilles Deatherage ca 1770. Achilles became the father of Lucy Deatherage ca 1772. Achilles became the father of William Deatherage ca 1774. Achilles became the father of George B. Deatherage ca 1779. At 39 years of age Achilles became the father of Bird Deatherage March 2, 1782. At 39 years of age Achilles became the father of Amos Deatherage March 2, 1782. Achilles Deatherage moved to Madison County, Virginia (now Kentucky) in 1789 from Surry County, North Carolina. His first appearance in the Madison County tax list is in 1792. There is an old family letter from 1939 stating that Achilles also had a son named Granville who stayed in Virginia and who had two daughters.

Jane died before February 20, 1864 in Boone Co., MO, at approximately 69 years of age. There is no known record of his marriage to Jane Cornelison. An old family letter from 1939 says he married Mary Covington. There is no known record of that marriage either.

She married William Shelton in Surry Co., NC, February 28, 1829. William was born in Surry Co., NC July 26, 1805. William was the son of Neddie Shelton. William died ca 1873 in Surry Co., NC.

35 iv. Lucinda Deatherage was born in North Carolina ca 1815. Lucinda died ca 1860. She married Hugh Taylor in Surry Co., NC, December 23, 1830. Hugh was born in Halifax Co., VA October 12, 1804.

36 v. Christina Deatherage was born in Surry Co., NC ca 1817. She married William B. Taylor in Surry Co., NC, March 10, 1835.

37 vi. Achilles Deatherage was born ca 1820. His body was interred in Agency, Buchanan Co., MO. He married Mary Ann Hall. Mary was born in Pittsylvania Co., VA November 18, 1822. Mary died December 24, 1881 in Agency, Buchanan Co., MO, at 59 years of age.

38 vii. Phillip Deatherage was born in North Carolina June 29, 1822. Phillip died 1889 in Surry Co., NC, at 67 years of age. He married twice. He married Martha Forkner. Martha was born ca 1821. Martha was the daughter of James Forkner and Millie Harris. Martha died 1891 at 70 years of age. He married Martha J. Adkins in Surry Co., NC, May 7, 1882. Martha was born October 14, 1860. Martha died December 19, 1938 at 78 years of age.

At 21 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Bird Deatherage in Madison Co., KY, December 26, 1811. At 23 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Nancy Deatherage 1813.
