James became the father of Mary Robeson March 20, 1772. I believe the father of Mary Robeson (1772-1847) who married John Anderson is James Robeson as their oldest son was named James Robeson Anderson. There is a James Robeson listed in the 1797 tax list for Montgomery County, KY with one male white over 21 and 8 horses. The 1797 tax list was the first one for Montgomery County. This I believe to be the James Robeson who was the father of Mary Robeson. There is no James Robeson listed in the 1793, 1794 and 1795 tax lists for Clark County and no James Robeson listed in the 1799 tax list for Montgomery County. I feel pretty mystified about James and have no other information available.

John Anderson is listed in the 1808 tax list of Montgomery County, KY as John (Irish) Anderson to distinguish him from other John Andersons in the County. Based on this slim evidence I believe he was born in Ireland. He owned 70 acres on Harper's Branch of Lulbegrud Creek. He was first taxed for this land in the 1805 tax list. He may have been the John Anderson who owned 100 acres on Brush Creek in previous years. I can't determine John's time of arrival in Kentucky. Efforts to trace him back to other states have not been successful. It is probable he emigrated from Ireland directly to Kentucky. What kinship, if any, he had to the numerous other Andersons in the area is unknown. No parents or siblings are known.
