1. Gerardus¹ Ryker, son of John Ryker and Grietie Wiltsee, was born in Closter, NJ November 16, 1740. Gerardus died September 15, 1781 in "Long Run Massacre", Eastwood, KY, at 40 years of age.

He married Rachel Demaree in NY, November 20, 1762. Rachel was born in Schrallenburg, NJ November 19, 1743. Rachel was the daughter of Samuel Demarest and Leah Demarest. She was christened in Bucks Co., PA, April 1, 1744. At 20 years of age Rachel became the mother of John Ryker January 18, 1764. At 22 years of age Rachel became the mother of Leah Ryker November 28, 1765. At 23 years of age Rachel became the mother of Gerardus Ryker, Jr. November 4, 1767. At 25 years of age Rachel became the mother of Samuel Ryker in Closter, NJ, November 4, 1769. At 27 years of age Rachel became the mother of Geertie Ryker August 6, 1771. At 29 years of age Rachel became the mother of Rachel Ryker June 19, 1773. At 33 years of age Rachel became the mother of Deborah O. Ryker January 23, 1777. Rachel became the mother of Charity Ryker in Shelby Co., KY, ca 1780. After the death of Gerardus Ryker, Rachel married John Van Cleave. She had more children after her marriage to John Van Cleave but I have no information about them.

At 23 years of age Gerardus became the father of John Ryker January 18, 1764. At 25 years of age Gerardus became the father of Leah Ryker November 28, 1765. At 26 years of age Gerardus became the father of Gerardus Ryker, Jr. November 4, 1767. At 28 years of age Gerardus became the father of Samuel Ryker in Closter, NJ, November 4, 1769. At 30 years of age Gerardus became the father of Geertie Ryker August 6, 1771. At 32 years of age Gerardus became the father of Rachel Ryker June 19, 1773. At 36 years of age Gerardus became the father of Deborah O. Ryker January 23, 1777. Gerardus became the father of Charity Ryker in Shelby Co., KY, ca 1780. Gerardus Ryker was part of the "Low Dutch Colony" in Shelby and Henry Counties in Kentucky. He was killed by Indians in the Long Run Massacre, also know as Floyd's Defeat, September 15, 1781 near Eastwood in Jefferson County, Kentucky.

6 v. Gerardus Ryker, Jr. was born November 4, 1767. Gerardus died January 7, 1839 in Jefferson Co., IN, at 71 years of age. He married Leah Smock in Mercer Co., KY, May 5, 1791.

8 vii. Geertie Ryker was born August 6, 1771. She married Vincent Robbins in Kentucky, December 22, 1787.

15 iv. John J. Ryker was born in Shelby Co., KY ca 1795. John died ca 1824. He married Nancy Ledgerwood in Jefferson Co., IN, March 2, 1816. Nancy died 1836.

16 v. Anna Ryker was born in Shelby Co., KY ca 1797. Anna died before Oct. 8, 1832 at approximately 35 years of age. She married George Washington Benefiel August 12, 1816. George was born in Kentucky 1789. George was the son of George Eli Benefiel and Mary Buchanan.

30. Cornelia Esther⁵ Ryker (Joseph Holton⁴, Samuel³, Samuel², Gerardus¹) was born in Jefferson Co., IN December 11, 1852. Cornelia died September 14, 1925 at 72 years of age. Her body was interred in Hanover Cemetery, Hanover, IN.

She married James Mayer LaBach June 23, 1870. James was born in Chambersburg, PA June 6, 1845. James was the son of Samuel Harrison Laubach and Anna Catherine Mayer. James died November 1, 1919 in Madison, IN, at 74 years of age. His body was interred in Hanover Cemetery, Hanover, IN. James's occupation: Minister. At 25 years of age James became the father of James Oscar LaBach in Newcastle, IN, April 22, 1871. At 27 years of age James became the father of Paul Mayer LaBach in Leavenworth, IN, October 3, 1872. At 30 years of age James became the father of Anna LaBach in Amboy, IL, February 18, 1876. James Mayer LaBach served in the Union Army from Pennsylvania during the Civil War and participated in the battles of Gettysburg, Antietam, South Mountain, Chancellorsville and others. After the Civil War he became a Presbyterian minister and served churches in Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio. He was the Pastor of the Crittenden Presbyterian Church in Grant County, Kentucky around the turn of the century. After the Civil War he changed the spelling of his name from Laubach to LaBach for reasons not now known.

At 18 years of age Cornelia became the mother of James Oscar LaBach in Newcastle, IN, April 22, 1871. At 19 years of age Cornelia became the mother of Paul Mayer LaBach in Leavenworth, IN, October 3, 1872. At 23 years of age Cornelia became the mother of Anna LaBach in Amboy, IL, February 18, 1876.
