Cave Creek
Cave Creek is a very small town just a few miles north of Phoenix. At the center is this old-west street with a tavern, fountain square and tourist shops.

A few miles further up is the town of Carefree,
which has a shopping plaza with a huge sundial.

As you can see, there's a "sun" sculpture hanging from the shadow arm. The arm is about 40 feet long.

Rawhide

Driving south from Carefree, in northern Scottsdale is the old-west themetown of Rawhide. Indian and Spanish dancers perform along with the standard old-west shoot-outs.

rockwall
I did rock climb at Rawhide. It's only about 20 feet to the top, but even the "easy" section wore me out.
I didn't get far up the "moderate" side.

Paris Hotel Casino
Okay, this is way north of Phoenix, in Las Vegas,
in front of the Paris Hotel Casino. But we were there in September!
