Long before the Web became the place to be, the standard MIDI file became very popular because of its universal format. Computer music lovers from all platforms could use the same files to drive their MIDI devices and create and share great music.
It's only natural, therefore, that the growth of the internet and the web would create a perfect opportunity for MIDI files to spread even farther and faster. Any computer can get on the web, and any computer can play standard MIDI files.
For most of us, using MIDI files from the web is a matter of downloading them and playing them later with our favorite sequencer or MIDI file player ( or GET NETSCAPE!!! ).
