By virtue of an entry N1128 for 100 acres dated the 28th July 1814.
Located on duplicate warrant N1545 for 100 acres issued 10 November 1779
in the name of Hiram Geren and adjudged valid by the commisioner of East TN
on the 4th day of August 1809. I have surveyed for Joseph Geren one hundred
acres of land in Knox County on the south side of Bever dam Creek. Beginning
at a stake near a marked Beech on Hiram Geren's old line and from there due
south fifty two poles to a white oak and hickory on the north side of the
Bever Creek ridge thence along said ridge north fifty degr. east three
hundred and twenty poles to two hickorys thence north eighty four poles to
a stake near a marked black oak on Sm? Majors line thence south forty four
deg. west three hundred and forty poles to the beginning passing by Sm?
Majors Corner and thence along Francis Hamiltons line and thence along
Joseph Gerens own line to the beginning.

at a black oak and sugar tree on the bank of said creed thence north nine
poles to a white oak and ash the north west corner of the said Helm 20 acre

Harrison E. Geren, 78, died Monday afternoon at his home, Charleston, Route
2. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mae Geren; a daughter, Mrs. J.H. Graham Jr.;
two grandsons: Lanny and Terry Graham, all of Charleston; a sister, Mrs.
Mamie Stephens of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Kinsey Geren of Washington, DC;
several nieces and nephews. Geren was a member of the Candies Creek Baptist
Church where funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 4 pm. by the
pastor, the Rev. Charles Runyan and former pastor, the Rev. Percy Maples.
Burial was in Candies Creek Cemetery.

Daisy Mae Geren
Daisy Mae Geren, 91, a native and lifelong resident of
Charleston, passed away Saturday, July 25, 1998, in a local
nursing home. She was a lifelong member of Candies Creek
Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 17 years
and also sang in the choir. She was the daughter of the late
James and Lauisa Parks Lamb and was also preceded in death
by her husband, Harrison E. Geren, and four sisters and four
brothers.
Survivors include her daughter: Helen Graham Mayle of
Charleston; two grandsons: Lanny C. Graham and his wife,
Bonita, both of Benton, and Terry L. Graham of Cleveland;
three great-grandchildren: Stephanie Stewart of Benton, Derrick
Graham of Orlando, Fla., and Drew Graham of Cleveland; and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in the
chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. David
Landrith officiating. Interment will follow in Candies Creek
Baptist Church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Mrs. Geren's favorite
cause, the Candies Creek Baptist Church building fund, 294 Old
Eureka Road, Charleston, TN 37310.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 this evening at the
funeral home.

Mrs. Amanda Geren Died Sunday Morning
Mrs. Amanda (Wagner) Geren, 77, died at the home of her son, Lawrence Geren,
Charleston, Sunday Morning at 4:30 o'clock. She was the wife of the late L.
M. Geren. She was a member of the Candies Creek Baptist Church for the past
64 years.
She is survived by five sons, Fred and Lawrence of Charleston, August,
French and Arlen of Cleveland; three daughters Mrs. Clint Johnson and Mrs.
Nat Mowery of Charleston and Mrs. Kins Carlton of Chattanooga; 27 grand
children and 37 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Candies Creek Baptist Church
Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. Percy maples
officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Casketbearers are
Suel Geren, Lynn Geren, Thomas Mowery, Phillip Coleman, Brackett Hooper
and Lealand Carlton.
The body will be at the home of Lawrence Geren until the hour of the
funeral.

died at her home, 23 Moore Street, Cleveland, Tenn., Sunday morning at
8:20 o'clock after a long illness. She was a member of the South
Cleveland Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons, Robert,
Clifford, Bernard Thomas, all of Cleveland; three daughters, Mrs. Mattie
Rapier, Mrs. Louie Thomas, both of Cleveland: Mrs. Tressie Barnes,

James J. "Cobb" Webb, 74, a lifetime resident of the Candies Creek
Community, died Wednesday morning in a local hospital.
He was a member of the Candies Creek Baptist Church for 51 years.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Luetta Johnson Webb of charleston; daughter and
son-in-law: Mrs. Doris Ann Wright and the Rev. Reed Wright, both of
Cleveland; two grandsons: Bobby Wright and Jimmy Wright, both of Cleveland;
three sisters: Mrs. Jessie Coulter of Dayton, and Mrs. Halcie Houston and
Mrs. Elizabeth Bolen, both of Charleston; two brothers: Paul Webb of
Huntsville, Alabama, and Edward Webb of Charleston; and several nieces and
nephews.
Services will be conducted Friday at 2 pm from the chapel of the Fike
Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Brooks and the Rev. Gary Miller officiating.
Interment will be in the Candies Creek Cemetery with Marshall Wallace,
Thomas Stonecipher, Donnie Gaines, Earnest Vincett, Austin Watson and Jerry
Graham serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Mens and
Womens Sunday School classes of the Candies Creek Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm today at the funeral
home.
Memorials may be made to the Earnest Vincett Chapel of the Bradley County
Nursing Home.

Saturday evening at her home.

Interment will be in Candies Creek Cemetery.
