I remember when I first came to the Lord
It was like walking on water
Things just happened and I really didn't know how
Then somewhere along the way something changed
Suddenly the power didn't seem as strong
I understood more
But the application didn't seem to be there
I finally see the difference
At the start of my walk I hung on "EVERY" word
Then I got smarter and started to work out the details
Turns out that's where I missed it
In the intelligence of my own reasoning of God's word
the power of faith became negated
I got to the place where I had to understand it
before I would believe it
SOUND FAMILAR?
Instead of putting God's word into my heart
I was putting my own formulations
And the tell tale sign
The words of my mouth
For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks
Sure I was making faith confessions
I was also negating them with worldly observations
so my good confessions became negated
I don't know exactly how or why
but lately I've become hungry again
I've come to the place where I realize I'm smart
but not anywhere near as smart as God
And the only real smart thing I can do is
Hang on every word that proceeds from His mouth
What is God telling you?
If you can't hear Him ask Him to speak up!
If you don't have the will to do it
ask Him to break your will!
Be Humble and the God of our grace will lift you up
That's how we walk in the power and glory of God
By believing and trusting in God!
By learning how to be still and LISTEN
Faith comes by HEARING
NOT by reasoning!
Store that up in your heart
Then when your mouth opens His word will come out
and it will do that thing for which it was sent!
You want to walk in the power of God
Forget the false humility,
if you don't want this you're stupid!
Then turn down the volume on your thinking
Crank up the volume on His word
Hang on every word!
