My eyes swell with tears
My soul is troubled
My heart is overwhelmed with sorrow
for against you and you only have I sinned
I see that in every place of my life
that I have given you dominion
you have in return given me your authority
I still have many places yet to yield
but this is not my sin
But in the places that you are in
when I break faith with you
I disappoint you
I injure you
this is where you Lord have become my sin
No longer is my sin what I do
or how I behave
No longer is my sin against the law
but my sin is you Lord
it is every place you are that I refuse you
it is my disobedience to your voice
Obedience comes by faith
and anything apart from faith is sin
When I heard your voice
You Lord, became sin for me
So here I am
with a broken heart
a troubled soul
because I have made you into sin
Just as a little child recognizes
he has hurt the one who loves him
so my soul repents
Just as a Father forgives his repentant child
so my soul rejoices in your loving kindness
