In the world we are taught to reason
we learn the rules of logic
the scientific method
and we are taught to "reason it out"
And when we look at the atheist
isn't that exactly what we see
they have their proofs
and they demand evidence
Suppose there is none
Suppose God chooses not to be found
Could He, would He
The Bible answers this question
{1:18} For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. {1:19} For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1 Corinthians 1:18-19
Is this not exactly what we see
they look for "logical" evidence of God
and never find it
Why?
He refuses to be found that way
On purpose God refuses to be found?
YES, because He's not interested in your ability to reason
So God has chosen the foolish things
Think about that
sending His son to die on a cross looks kind of silly to me
why didn't He at least hold a parade after the resurrection
all of Jerusalem would have believed
So if God didn't choose this way
the wisdom of the world
why did He choose the foolish way
Have you ever been in love?
I'll bet you have
Now think about how that looked
foolish!
Love is the wisdom God chose
God reveals Himself to those who love Him!
because He is love
If God so chooses He can remain unknowable to whom He will
If God so chooses He can reveal Himself to whom He will
the reasoning of men does not catch God's eye
but love brings Him running
