Imagine That

{10:3} For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: {10:4} (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) {10:5} Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; {10:6} And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. {10:7} Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's. 2 Corinthians 10:3-7

If there is one thing that can lead to trouble quickly
it's an imagination running wild
When we just let our thoughts go
they take us places we should not want to go
We imagine we want this thing or that
We imagine this will happen or not
We imagine how the future will be
We even imagine how the past could have been
Imagination works in words
Every word is part of a picture
Every sentence a snapshot
And every story like a movie
We imagine all kinds of things some good, some bad
often we either blot out the bad or try to put a good face on it
We use our imagination for all sorts of vain things
We imagine why we're right and someone else is wrong
that's pride trying to say I'm better than the other guy
We imagine how to hurt one another
And how to make someone else pay for our hurt
We imagine with lust and pride how we are and what we want
How often do we imagine wrong things?
Our imagination is for a purpose
We often don't use it for that purpose
So what should we imagine?
We are made in God's image
Imagine that Jesus did
