Have you ever had to get away from something in order to see something?
Does absence really make the heart grow founder?
Do you sometimes have to lose something to fully appreciate it?
This may sound funny but the truth is
I trust my wife more when I'm not with her
Perhaps that's because then I'm not seeing her mistakes
Perhaps it's also because I'm seeing her as God sees her
Perhaps it's because when we're apart I see her through the eyes of love
I realized today, in a new way
that it's not about the way we are
it's all about what we are becoming
The world says, "just be"
The Lord says, "become"
We are in a great sleep
A sleep where the flesh rules and the physical reigns
But slowly, with certainty we are awakening
We are being transformed into the likeness of Christ
It begins with being "born again"
{3:3} Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 3:3
This is an intriguing statement
"you can't see unless you're born again"
I know in my own life it took a "personal" encounter of a sorts
God had to intercede in my life in such a way
that I had no doubt about His being active in my life
and this didn't happen until I knew I deeply needed Him
I needed Him
and somehow believed He'd help me
and when that happened
"I saw God in action"
became "aware of His presence"
and "awake to His Spirit"
Perhaps all of this goes a long way to explaining the state man is in
Why Adam had to leave the garden
Why walking by faith instead of sight is essential
And perhaps now, "becoming fully aware and appreciative"
we are ready for the "intimate relationship God so desires"
I think I'm in love
